New Defence Minister – Peter Dutton
Peter Dutton has been announced as the new Minister for Defence, replacing Lynda Reynolds who remains on medical leave and, until recently, had the ‘full confidence of the Prime Minister’.
Defence Industry Minister Melissa Price retains her portfolio.
The former industry minister Karen Andrews has been promoted to replace Peter Dutton at Home Affairs.
Christian Porter, who is also on medical leave, has been stood down from the Attorney Generals position, replacing Karen Andrews at industry.
Michaelia Cash is the new Attorney-General and Industrial Relations Minister.
Peter Dutton becomes the sixth new Defence Minister in eight years.
