Defence adds first domestic COVID-19 cases in more than a month

In a significant development, Defence today added two cases of COVID-19 in New South Wales – plus one more ‘overseas’.

However, NSW Health says no new locally acquired cases have been recorded in the State for days – and that all recently reported cases were among “overseas travellers” in hotel quarantine.

Therefore, in the absence of detail and clarity from Defence, CONTACT is calling these two NSW ADF cases as coming from among ADF members in quarantine after completing overseas deployments in the service of their nation (can they/should they really be classed as ‘overseas travellers’?) – and calling foul on the lack of detail (as usual) offered by Defence!

Today’s three new cases brings Defence’s confirmed total of COVID-19 cases to 117, with 110 listed as ‘recovered’.

The two cases reported as being in NSW today are the first domestically diagnosed cases since late October.

See our full and ongoing chronology of where and when ADF COVID-19 cases occurred (as best we can keep up/deduce), here.
