Chinese Task Group visits Auckland

Two ships from China’s Peoples Liberation Army-Navy visited Auckland, New Zealand, on June 15.

The Type 054 A Guided Missile Frigates Heng Yang [568] and Yu Lin [569] were on a goodwill visit as part of a wider tour in the Asia Pacific following their counter-piracy deployment in the Gulf of Aden.

Accompanied by replenishment ship Hongh, the task group was expected to take part in maneuvers and drills with New Zealand units.
