MEA’s Ungerboeck Young Professional Scholarship is open to people working in the events industry in every state and territory.

“It was an honour to receive the Ungerboeck Young Professional Scholarship as the ACT winner,” Ms Hannan said.

“Working for the Directorate of Air Force Events allows me to not only expand my events experience and knowledge, it allows me to contribute to Air Force values by striving every day to be professionally and personally the best I can be.”

MEA supports and nurtures the development of future leaders in the events industry and fosters the growth of young professionals.

Ungerboeck partnered with MEA to develop a national scholarship and has been supporting the program since its inception in 2005.

The scholarship provides an opportunity for the successful applicants to attend Evolve 2021, the annual national events industry conference attended by about 500 professionals.

At the conference, each scholarship recipient has the opportunity to develop their skills, learn about industry trends and best practice, and connect with industry leaders, event professionals and suppliers.

“I look forward to attending Evolve 2021 and bringing back to our team the very latest best-practice innovations in the industry,” Ms Hannan said.

The Directorate of Air Force Events worked closely with the Air Force 2021 team to deliver the Canberra events during the centenary week commemorations at the end of March and supports nationwide events conducted by Air Force.

Centenary week events in Canberra included the welcome ceremony, commemorative ceremony, Last Post ceremonies at the Australian War Memorial, the Queen’s Colour parade and the centenary dinner.
