Globemaster delivers fire retardant to Western Australia

The ADF has supported the Western Australian Department of Fire and Emergency Services to enable their ongoing firefighting efforts around the state.

A RAAF C-17A Globemaster was loaded with 50 bags of urgently needed aerial fire retardant at RAAF Base Richmond bound for Western Australia.

The fire retardant, provided by the New South Wales Rural Fire Service, was flown to the Busselton Margaret River Airport on Saturday morning, 9 January, with the C-17A identified as the fastest and most efficient means of transport.

The ADF stands ready to support the civil emergency services personnel and communities in Western Australia.
