CONTACT fan tours ADV Cape Otway

A CONTACT fan visited HMAS Cairns on a recent open day and very kindly sent us the attached photos of the relatively new ADV Cape Otway.

Cape Otway is the first of six new evolved Cape-class patrol boats for the Royal Australian Navy, to replace the Armidale-class boats.

ADV Cape Otway was accepted into service early last year and is now home-ported in Cairns.

HMAS Cairns was opened to the public – for the first time since 2013 – on 25 February, as part of Navy Week 2023.
