The contingent forms the seventh rotation of Task Group Taji and consists primarily of soldiers from the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, as well as a number of other soldiers from Brisbane’s 7th Brigade and external units.

Task Group Taji 7 personnel will train, advise and assist members of the Iraqi Security Forces in their efforts to defeat Daesh.

The training and mentoring mission is part of Operation Okra – the ADF’s contribution to the international coalition effort to combat the Daesh terrorist threat in Iraq and Syria.
