Governor General visits Aussie troops in Iraq

Governor General of Australia General Sir Peter Cosgrove visited Australian Defence Force personnel and Defence civilians in Iraq yesterday.

Sir Peter also met with the president of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Fuad Masum, Australian Defence Force members of the Special Operations Task Group, Australian Embassy staff and ADF members of Task Group Taji.

About 1800 ADF members are currently deployed to the Middle East Region on operations.
