Brisbane asked to support Ex Stone Pillow

Fun Food Games & Gear at…

Exercise Stone Pillow on 26 August 2017 will once again be held at Dorrington Park, outside Enoggera Barracks, Ashgrove, Queensland.

Exercise Stone Pillow is now in its fifth year – with participants spending part of the day and one night sleeping outdoors to experience what it is like to live rough.

This is a fundraising event to raise funds for homeless veterans or veterans facing homelessness, and for their families.

The event is run by Wounded Heroes, a frontline service, emergency/crisis provider who do whatever it takes to fund support services for deployed personnel, the wounded, and their families.

This is principally done by providing short-term emergency-relief payments to individuals and their families, although funds are also available for other purposes where a need exists.

Commander 7 Brigade Brigadier AJ Rawlins lends strong support to the initiative and its organisers.

“I am a strong advocate of Wounded Heroes because they provide direct funding and support to serving members and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and, importantly, to their families,” Brigadier Rawlins said.

“Australia’s service personnel, especially those who may have been wounded or suffered injury or illness as a result of their service, and their families, deserve strong community support.”

And Exercise Stone Pillow 2017 is a very strong, worthwhile and worthy way for the Brisbane community to show their support.
