Exercise Northern Shield 2015

About 1000 military personnel, with airplane, helicopter, boat and vehicle support deployed to the north west of Western Australia in September in an exercise designed to demonstrate the Australian Defence Force’s capability to protect Australia’s remotest oil-rich region.

 

Exercise Northern Shield saw members of the Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force rapidly deploy around Learmonth and Exmouth to counter a fictitious force posing a threat to Australia’s national security.
