Whale-tail wood carving for a special birthday

My niece, Ciara, has just turned 18 and is about to start marine biology at university.

So, I set about carving an appropriate gift in my wood shop.

Sadly, the specific animal I chose to carve had had an accidental encounter with a boat propellor when he was juvenile.

But, he’s still getting on with his best life out there in the wild somewhere.
