Framing a bathroom ceiling with fan

We bought a fancy ceiling fan/light/heater, which needs 230mm of space above the ceiling.

So, it’s this fan that ultimately decided the ceiling height – which will end up at 2400mm – or just 70mm higher than the original.

But, I have no regrets in taking out the old chipboard ceiling and replacing it with a new plasterboard jobbie.

At least I hope I won’t have any regrets when it’s finally done (spoiler alert – things don’t go so well in the next video in this bathroom series).
