What’s Defence trying to hide in its COVID-19 updates?

This morning, sometime after 10.36am (the last time we screen-grabbed it – because that’s the only way of ‘proving shenanigans’), Defence updated their “Latest Updates” page to reflect that 112 ADF personnel have now ‘recovered’ from COVID-19 – yet the same “Latest Updates” page still says it was last updated at 3pm yesterday.

The same page still has the same photo it has had since the 9th of December – further camouflaging updates/changes.

While it’s excellent news that so many ADF personnel have officially ‘recovered’, what does ‘recovered’ actually mean? Will there be an inquiry down the track examining ‘long-term-affects’? Or whistleblowers coming forward saying how Defence tested them negative and sent them on their way – with debilitating, persisting symptoms?

And what about the lack of actual information coming out of Defence – and inconsistent information. For example, more than half of all ADF cases (64/120 as of yesterday) are simply listed as ‘overseas’ – a descriptor so broad we don’t even know which country (except to guess the majority were in the ‘Middle East’ broadly)!

Yet, when there was just one case in Papua New Guinea, we got a comprehensive press release (issued at 9.32pm on a Saturday)!

And what about the ‘travellers from overseas‘ – where Defence listed two new cases in New South Wales (with no other information), but NSW Health said only ‘travellers from overseas in hotel quarantine’ were infected.

ADF people deserve better?!?!

What’s really going on? Why aren’t they keeping us properly informed? What are they trying to hide?

The answer I’m guessing is that they are ‘not allowed’ to give out details about this ‘negative’ subject, by and because of a minister who can’t put a positive political spin on it – ‘proved’ by the fact Defence was plenty happy to give details of the first two cases – then told to stop(?)

EDITOR’s NOTE: All this ‘conspiracy theorising’ just because there was nothing else to ‘hang’ the pure number 112 on. If they gave us something to say, we wouldn’t have to ‘make shit up’.
