Defence adds second COVID-19 case today

Defence has updated today’s updates page to add a second COVID-19 case for today – with the little black locations map making a return.

The map shows one new case ‘overseas’ and one new case in Melbourne.

We have no way of knowing (because Defence doesn’t say) if the member in Melbourne was a local or was deployed on Operation COVID-19 Assist.

This second case today brings Defence’s total COVID-19 cases to 68.

With 57 cases officially classed as ‘recovered’, Defence is currently managing 11 active cases.

Twelve ADF members, who were allocated to Operation COVID-19 Assist remain in precautionary isolation at RAAF Base Wagga, after visiting a COVID-19 hot-spot in Sydney on 9 July – the Crossroads Hotel.

The 12 members were tested for COVID-19 and received negative results on Monday 13 July, but will remain in medical isolation for 14 days, as a precaution.
