Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Leo Davies will unveil a new and striking Air Force hot air balloon to members of the media at Number 34 Squadron, Fairbairn, on Friday morning, before it’s World public debut at the Canberra Balloon Spectacular on Saturday 12 March 2016.

For 25 years, the RAAF balloon has travelled throughout Australia visiting communities and giving them an opportunity to be inspired by aviation and meet Air Force people.

With a unique fighter-pilot-helmet shape, the new RAAF balloon will visually link the oldest and newest forms of aviation in a distinctive design,” a RAAF spokesman said.

“Making its debut at the Canberra Balloon Spectacular on Saturday, the new Air Force Balloon is a bold visual statement of the Royal Australian Air Force’s evolution for the 21st century.”
