Bike ride with the spirit of Anzac

Ride Anzac – and in the morning you will remember them; as you ride with the spirit of Anzac

If you ride a bike then join our peloton for an ANZAC mission to commemorate and honour Australians who died during wars, conflicts and peacekeeping.

VetRide is partnering with Bicycle Network, as part of its inaugural ‘The Weekender’ event and your presence will be an important part of the ride.

As a past or present member of the Australian Defence Force and as part of our VetRide Team, there is no cost to enter this event – and you will also receive a free VetRide ‘Ride ANZAC’ jersey.

The VetRide Team will camp for two nights at Leongatha, Victoria, arriving Friday 21 April and departing Sunday 23 April, 2023.

The Weekender

Swap urban streets for rolling hills, quiet roads and fresh country air over the ANZAC Day long weekend.

The Weekender is the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and experience Gippsland on a fully supported cycling adventure with your mates.

Explore the hidden gems and quaint towns of the Gippsland region while enjoying good company, great food and stunning scenery.

Just make sure you take time to explore the local cafes, boutique shops and galleries in the surrounding towns when not on two-wheels.

 

The Ride

Starting and finishing in Leongatha, Victoria, the 185km ride is split over two days, with a 115km loop on the first day and a 70km loop on the second day.

While you’ll need to prepare the legs for more than 1200m of elevation each day, Bicycle Network will be by your side the entire way, providing full on-route support, including rest stops, nutrition and hydration, as well as medical and mechanical assistance.
