New Appeal for Reconsideration for 3000 Viet Vets who missed medal

Dear Editor,

Thank you for the opportunity to update your readers on a matter in which many would be interested.

I am the facilitator on behalf of almost 3000 National Servicemen from across the nation who have yet to be fully recognised for their honourable and lawful service in South Vietnam.

I have completed a comprehensive ‘Appeal for Reconsideration’ submission to the decision makers and we await a decision.

The submission contains the names of all these men, their service number and days spent in South Vietnam.

CONTACT has seen a very long list of parliamentarians and other notables who have pledged public or private support for Mr Barry’s submission – and we the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs quoted as saying “I have received Richard’s submission and my office has been in contact with him. I intend to review and consider it and, when we’re out of lockdown, meet with him to discuss what’s happened with the issue in the past and any available options going forward.“
