Bricking the walls in the basement pit

It’s always a significant turning point when things start going back in to a project.

This week, I begin bricking up the walls under my new concrete ‘benchtops’.

They aren’t load bearing, so I can take a little artistic licence with them.

And, as usual, I’m making all this up on the fly.

Brian, love the job so far. Well done. Looking forward to the next episode.
Perhaps a small tip for the timber. If you char it with a flame then sand back, it brings out the grain and makes it less likely to rot or get attacked by the wee beasties. Something I found along my building journey.
    Cheers

Thank you Paul – your interest and your feedback is much appreciated. That’s a good suggestion re the wood. That said, however, I don’t have much worry about its ability to cope. The wood is ex fence posts, which have been out in the Australian weather for 40 years or more, with very little deterioration.
      Thanks again for watching.
