How CONTACT magazine is made – Part 2 – the first pages layout

In Part 2, I lay out the first four pages of CONTACT issue number 62.

These are the same four pages I nearly always start off with – Major Darryl Kelly’s “Just Soldiers” column (and I take this opportunity to thank Darryl for steadfastly supplying these stories, every issue since day dot – 62 stories in 62 issues!).

They are done to a template that gives me a good starting point – but, as you’ll see in the video, there’s still a lot of tweaking and fiddling – and artistic freedom involved.

BTW – the story edit and pages layout took just shy of 2 hours – but the video took about 5 hours to edit 🙁 (at this rate I may have to pace myself a bit better – and get the magazine done as a priority).
