Royal New Zealand Navy parades its Colours

Royal New Zealand Navy Fleet and Naval Support sailors assembled adjacent to the Devonport Naval base today to formally parade their Colours.

Fleet Divisions is the annual opportunity for our Navy to muster and formally parade the colours.

This year about 1000 sailors presented themselves at their best at Devonport for review.

Governor General of New Zealand Dame Patsy Reddy was the reviewing officer.

Dame Patsy is also the Royal New Zealand Navy’s Commander in Chief.

The Colours were presented to the Royal New Zealand Navy in 1953 by the then newly crowned Queen Elizabeth.
