The chiefs met to discuss broader global security, including the ongoing campaign against Daesh in Iraq and Syria, regional security issues, and defence engagement.

Air Chief Marshal Binskin also met with America’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph F Dunford Jnr in Sydney ahead of the US General’s visit to Darwin.

The meetings built on Air Chief Marshal Binskin’s recent discussions with counterparts at last month’s NATO Chiefs of Defence meeting.

During their respective visits to Canberra, General Marc Compernol of Belgium, General Bjørn Bisserup from Denmark and Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen from Norway also attended the Last Post Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial.
