Kiwi SAS killed in training

The New Zealand Defence Force has confirm that a member of the New Zealand Special Operations Force was killed this morning in a training accident.

The member died during a maritime counter-terrorism training exercise off the Coromandel Peninsula.

Next of kin have been informed, and a family liaison officer has been assigned.

A new Zealand Defence Force spokesman said the organisation’s thoughts were with the soldier’s family and friends.
